Deep pressure helps to sleep so you will wake up well rested

Deep pressure has a direct influence on the brain and helps sensory processing. It reduces the overwhelming effect of all the stimuli received. It helps calm and soothe an over-stimulated or ‘anxious’ nervous system and provides a safe and protected feeling. The calming effect of deep pressure helps you to be more aware of your tired body and clear your head so you can fall asleep more easily. The pressure also helps to filter stimuli when you’re asleep so you wake up less or not at all during the night.

There are different ways to receive deep pressure. Some like to lie under the heavy cushions of a sofa or withdraw into small spaces, others love to be firmly hugged. Think of the effect of a firm hug when you are upset or the swaddling of restless babies. It gives a feeling of safety and security. Squease is an inflatable deep pressure vest that applies a hug like pressure to the wearer’s upper body when it is inflated with air. Because deep pressure is calming, a pressure vest can be a perfect tool to fall asleep quicker. Would you like to know how to use a pressure vest to help with sleeping? How do I use Squease to sleep better?

Do you struggle to fall asleep? Then the vest can be built into your night routine. The calming effect of the deep pressure will last for up to 1.5 hours after the vest has been deflated. So by inflating the vest before going to sleep, you can relax and clear your mind from all thoughts and stimuli that you’ve processed that day. The vest makes you more aware of your body and makes you calm so you can fall asleep quicker.

Some users prefer to fall asleep with their vest on. If needed the vest can later be deflated by someone else. Some parents check on their children after 30-45 minutes to see if they’re asleep and then deflate the vest.

Do you wake up at night and then struggle to fall asleep again? Some Squease users wake up once the effect of the deep pressure has stopped. They go to bed with an inflated vest and deflate it in the morning. Because of the constant deep pressure you will be able to sleep through the night. You don’t have to worry about wearing an inflated vest all night because you can’t experience too much deep pressure. You can disconnect the pump from the vest so it is more comfortable to sleep in. The air will stay in the vest when you disconnect the pump until you deflate it yourself.
